Extreme right side pain under my rib cage

I had Pancreatits due to a bad Gall Bladder a year ago.  Since then I have been pretty healthy until recently.  About 8 weeks ago I started getting these severe pains in my right side under my rib cage.  When I take a deep breath it is like someone is stabbing me.  I have no fever and this pain is re-occuring.  Some days I am fine, others I can't move.  I have been to the emergency room twice.  The first time they told me my liver enzymes were real high but there was no sign of pancreatits and they sent me home with pain killers.  The second time they did and ultra sound, found nothing, and again sent me home on pain killers.  Has this happened to anyone?  I am scared but tired of going to the ER to be told to go home and rest.

I am having pain in my upper right rib cage area under the breast. I have it for more than 10 days now. When I'm still in pain fpr the third day, I went to one doctor and he asked me to undergo ECG and x-ray but it turns out normal so he said maybe its only muscle pain. And today, my 11th day in pain, Ive gone for 2nd opinion and I went to other doctor for check-up, the doctor prescribed for me Voltarine tablet and ointment and do a hot compress every 3-4 hours. She said it is mainly caused by direct ac (air-condition) on that side of my body so I got this they called rib inflamation.

Am going to the gastroenterologist July 1.  I hope he can help me with this pain URQ.  I had it so bad I gave in to a Transoral fundoplication surgery.  I still have the pain - so am thinking I might have adhesions from the gall bladder surgery I had years ago.  Need to find out as this pain is killing me!

it sounds like you have an esophageal spasm.  Ask your doctor for a prescription for Dicyclomine.  It stops the spasms pretty quickly and opens up so you can eat comfortably. - I get it from time to time and not as often as I used to. -  Sometimes I had to spit out the food I had in my mouth or try to throw it up because my esophagus closed.... the Dicyclomine worked almost immediately.
