Glad to find this site. I one time years ago fainted while driving due to a heartily laughing. I recovered after having a massive thump to my chest. I opened my eyes to a smashed and totaled ford mustang (head on collision with a utility pole) in which the sterling wheel had crumpled into my chest. My friend riding next to me had been thrown head first into the windshield and I saw a perfect hole with strands of his hair in the window. Luckily we had minor injuries however the police was convinced that I had been drinking (after answering all their questions coherently, they realized and admitted that I had not). I did not and still do not know what or why it happened (now years later). I do know if I start laughing very hard that I must stop myself before it gets out of control ( which is hard for me since I'm a heck of a guy). LOL. I have a worry and a caution if the car insurance companies find out about this condition will they treat it like those who have seizures? Mandatory loss of driving privileges followed by mandatory medical treatment until proven fit? This is why I did not mention it to the police and only to my doctor. He felt that I only laughed hard enough as to not catch my breath (if you hold your breath long enough you will pass out) so now if I feel it beginning I remind myself Breath deeply. I think that you're laughing and just stop breathing. Just a thought.
