neck pain

I seem to only feel neck pain in the right side  and only when laying down on my right side  and only when swallowing. Have seen a ENT  and was told throat looked fine. I am  thinking it could be an artery.

Thank u for ur suggestion. I dont rembr if I posted this in my symptoms, but when I 1st went into the E.R.(same 1 w/ the medical college) I saw a resident ENT that was on staff @ that time & he was able to get me into the speciallty clinic ASAP & then I was able to see 1 of the speciallty ENT doctors(not just residents). When I was in the E.R. & the ENT res. saw me, he found a lump in my throat & said that it was not my thyroid(which I just saw an Endocrinologist back in April/May 2013 that checked my thyroid, etc.), it was not my tonsils, & not a lymph node. At that time I had rembrd that for about the last(almost)2yrs., I have had a feeling of like a terrible itching that was like a hair deep down towards my ear drum. I explained how, Ive asked my dad & my primary MD, many times since then to take a look to see if there was anything like a hair that he could see, bcuz it was causing such a terrible itching sensation, but they both said that they did not see anything. Ive used q-tips & even got those plastic ear cleaners w/the spoon-like thing @ 1 end & a scraper(looks like those things that honey commercials use)on the other end to try to scratch whatever it was, but it was too deep & I didnt want 2 puncture anything(& yes, now Ive been told not 2 use those things 2 clean my ears). Anyway, when I told the ENT res. @ the E.R. about this, he said it almost definately could be causing/related 2 my ear stuff & Id have 2 have it chkd out when my ear was healed. The that ENT speciallty doctor, also found this lump in my throat & agreed w/the ENT res. My problem right now is a week after I was let out of the hospital, I went back into the Medical College & was not seen by either 1 of the same doctors & the res. I saw that day was telling me all differnt stuff & was a real *******. I asked 2 speak 2 the ENT Dr. & he told me that he was busy. I left in tears. Now last nite I was in SO MUCH PAIN(the EXTREME stress Ive been under could be causing the pain 2b worse)I really should have gone 2 the hospital. It was like some took a knife & was stabbing me in the inner ear & the pressure was EXCRUIATING, stemming from my inner ear, up 2(right side)my head & temple, around my eye socket, down, the whole side of my face, jaw, & throat. The lump in my throat is so large & painful, my daughter told me it was red & bruised looking & she could see the lump extended from my throat. This am, my throat is still sore & I can feel the lump moving around. The pressure in my ear is still there, but the the stabbing feeling has gone down a bit from last pm. I dont know what 2 do & NO ONE is helping me, in fact most doctors Ive seen have made things worse by mostly causing more & more stress. Ive suffered from severe depression & anxiety since I was diagnosed @ 13yrs. old & @ 25/26yrs. old, I was diagnosed w/bipolar disorder. Ive been on SO MANY differnt medications, had ECTs, & 2.5yrs. ago I was tested for ADD. At the time, I was told that my depression was too bad 2b put on meds. A yr. ago my primary MD tried Adderal, but I fell asleep about 2hrs after taking it, so I was put on Vyvanse & for the 1st time in 20+ yrs., I feel & act normal. Im productive & wake up naturally @ 7:30am or earlier & I cant sit watching TV(I usually needed 2 sit 4 @LEAST 2hrs. & watch TV before I was fully awake & able 2 get up & the earliest I would wake up is 10am-ish)for longer than 30mins. in the am b4 I NEED/HAVE 2 get up & be productive for the day. I dont rembr any time Ive felt/been like this past yr. EVER, & now some stupid ***** psychiatrist that came 2 see me(while I was in-patient)for 5-10mins(I had about 4hrs sleep in 4 days @ that time&couldnt keep my eyes open)& had asked me about what is causing my stress, I told her personal/family/legal stuff & if she wanted 2 know more, she could come back when I had some rest & was fully coherant, she never did. This stupid *****, called my primary MD & told him 2 take me off my Vyvanse, bcuz it was causing my anxiety, which causes my obsecent picking. The 1 medicine in 20+yrs. that has made me a "normal" productive person of society & now Im off it. I took my last dose this am, I have a new psychiatrist appt. coming up Sept. 16(it was the soonest I could get in, I made the appt. in June)& I cant even get enuf Vyvanse, 2 last me until then. I am SO scared of whats going 2 happen in the next 2wks w/out my ADD("make me normal") meds, & then they all wonder what I am so stressed out for! It could also be that your thyroid on the right side may be enlarged making it more difficult to swallow, and it can cause pain.

See a  cardiologist or a vascular surgeon.  Either one can diagnose a problem with the carotid artery.  The surgeon can suggest surgery or medication to take care of the problem.
