Yes Xanax is a terrible drug. It made me really sick. Bad side effects like you said racing heart, I felt dizzy, nauseated, lots of awful feelings, and some withdrawal coming off but mostly insomnia. Glad to be off that durg too.

i have these symptoms after coming off xanax.  my blood pressure is elevated now and i hear my heart beating out of my left ear and my neck on the left side pulsates when my heart beats.  i do believe it is anxiety causing this and maybe elevated blood pressure.

Well, it could be a panic attack. But to really know what is going on you can see your family practise doctor and they can do a 24 hour monitor and an echocardiogram to see if they get any irregularities. I felt like my heart was skippiing a beat and sometimes I would feel a flutter. I found out I have pre atrial contractions that are benign. So I quit coffee and too much sugar as this aggravated it. Also, some drugs will cause palpitations.
