I think you are right. I have been very anxious lately and I missed a few days of a medication that I am taking. I'm doing better now since getting my medication refilled. Thanks for your ideas!!
My advice is for you to see your doctor for a proper diagnosis.
Symptoms you describe may related to heart or lung conditions like asthma or a chest infection.
Blood disorders can also cause the symptoms you describe. Anaemia for example will make you feel that you are gasping for air and that you can't get enough and will also make you feel dizzy. Your heart is beating quickly to circulate the blood round your body and the reason for this is that there may not be enough red corpuscles to carry the oxygen round your body.
A blood test would confirm whether your are anaemic or not and a course of iron tablets would be prescribed if required.
Best wishes.
It could be anxiety or it could be something serious. A doctor needs to see you to take a history, give you a physical exam, and perhaps do tests like EKG and stress echocardiogram to see how you are doing.
Anxiety causes shallow, rapid breathing, and breathing like that increases anxiety. This is why people who are upset are told to breathe slowly or breathe into a paper bag. This treats the hyperventilation that is making them feel bad.
Gracious! I don't know what it is, but I do know it sounds serious enough to get to the doctor as soon as you can. Keep us updated! Blessings - Blu
