Help: Mind Hangover, aches and inability to stay awake

There are a few problems that I have:

1) I'm not sure how to describe it but the day after a day of reading and thinking (my favorite past time), my mind feels sluggish. My reading speed, comprehension and ability to analyze things feels impaired and I just feel tired almost like the beginning of getting a cold. Eyes even feel heavy.

2) I also have a problem that comes on occasionally whereas a wave of tiredness will hit me. Sometimes it will be accompanied by heart palpitations but more oft than not it's alone and I have severe trouble staying awake. It's even difficult for me to keep my eyes open

3)I rarely wake up feeling refreshed.

4) Great difficulty recalling information/words. I will even lose track of what I'm saying while I'm talking.

5) I get this weird feeling in my body and mind that's an achey-ish feeling,

Any suggestions as to what this is? Are they related? How can I combat it?

if you haven't you might want to just run over these symptoms with your doc and even ask if your vit D levels should be checked. a lack of vit D can cause some of these symptoms

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You have described your symptoms pretty well. From you symptoms alone it sounds like chronic fatigue syndrome. This usually presents with a mixture of all or a few of these symptoms: widespread myalgia and arthralgia, headaches, chronic mental and physical exhaustion, cognitive difficulties, concentration difficulty and memory problems.
Vit B12 deficiency, anemia or thyroid problems should be looked at. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor.
It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

It may be Mono, lack of sleep, or something else like lack of activity. You may need to see a doctor for all of this. Have you already? Because it can be something more serious than you think. Try the doctor first and see how it works.
