Is it normal that ever since I got a really bad sunburn in 2004 my legs have not burnt since???

Is it weir that My legs have not sun burnt or tanned since summer 2004 when I got 1st or 2nd degree sun burn. My friends are ways commenting on how pale I am. It's the first thing my friends parents noticed about me when they met me! Even today o was out side all day and got a sun burn everywere except my legs. I even layed down on the beach to Ty and tan my legs and it still did not work. Their just as white as they always are. When I got the sun burn in 2004 it felt like there was a fire a inch or 2 from my thighs. Is this normal??? They burnt when I was 11 I am now 16. Is this weird???

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It is possible that the sunburn could have caused a loss of the melanocytes or the melanin pigment secreting cells.  Hence the area where they are not present is now not tanning. You can consult a dermatologist regarding this.
Hope this helps. Take care!
