Itchy hand and feet rash

Since I came back from my vacation to Cuba, about a month ago, I developed some how tiny circular itchy things both in the inside and outside of my palms and feet. I also had an itchy spot on my scrotum for just 5 or 6 days, but got rid of it by applying a kind of whitish cream the doctor gave me for free.

Now, the most disturbing ones are these itchy little stuffs, some of them perfectly round with a kind of a dark dot at its center and rigid. They are itchy mostly at night. I remember ones it woke me up. Now these little buggers are spreading upwards to my ankle in patches. The same is true towards both my wrists. I have my doctor booked me to see a Dermatologist in the month to come. Till then though, I am terribly concerned and suffering from these itchy aliens. I really hate them. Please help me out with your advice. Could they be any form of sign for any sexually transmitted disease? I am worried, because I had unprotected intercourse when I was in Cuba. Thanks!

Hi,

This appears to be a case of Tinea cruris. Tinea cruris is a superficial fungal infection (dermatophytosis) of the body. It may have a variety of appearances; most easily identifable are the enlarging raised red rings with a central area of healing (ringworm). The same appearances of ringworm may also occur on the scalp (tinea capitis), beard area (tinea barbae) or the groin (tinea cruris, known as jock itch or dhobi itch).

Most cases are treated by application of topical antifungal creams to the skin, but in extensive or difficult to treat cases systemic treatment with oral medication may be required.

Hope thsi helped. you may find more information at; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinea_corporis

Without seeing the lesions, one guess is "ring worm", which is actually a fungus.  It can affect any part of the body.  If in fact this IS fungus, it is easily treated with anti-fungal creams, which may or may not also contain a steroid.

I would not wait that long. Sounds to me like you might have scabies or bed bugs. They will just get worse. Go see a doctor right away, it doesn't have to be a dermatologist, just see a doctor as soon as possible.
