LOW GRADE FEVER the NEXT DAY !!!!!

I am 53 years old and the last two years i have noticed that I run a low grade fever ( 99.8 ) the next day after I drink acouple of beers. I have been to my PCP and he had no idea what is causing it. I do suffer from anxiety disorder and I have IBS and Barrett's esophagus. My GI doctor has no idea what is causing the low grade fever. I stopped drinking beer for 5 years and then I drank 3 beers at a party and the next day my intestines felt like they were on fire and I had the low grade fever. I have had every test under the sun and nobody can figure it out. One doctor said, the fever was probably stress related since it goes away in a day or two and I only get one when I drink beer. I even tried drinking a light mixed drink and the same results. Does anyone know what might be causing these low grade fevers ? I had a friend in high school who use to run a low grade fever everytime he had to take a test. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated .

I have noticed that sometimes chips, and of course Italian food causes my stomach to act up. Which I figured it would, but also it my act up just by eating Jello. Which I thought was strange. As far as the low grade fever it seems that beer or even alittle mixed drink will cause it, I haven't noticed it with anything else. I had a few beers the other night( 3 ) and I woke up with a pain in my stomach that went threw to my back. Now I have THIS pain every morning, but it eases up when I get out of bed. I do have a few bad disk in my back and I was wondering if this could be causing some of this pain. I saw a specialist about this and he said, NO. I myself are wondering if it could be caused by anxiety or stress ?

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Since you have IBS and Barret’s esophagus, Beer could be causing inflammation. Mild inflammation of the gut too can raise the body temperature slightly. You should keep a stress diary. “Persons with an irritable bowel have an intestinal system that overreacts to food, stress, and hormonal changes. "Think of your irritable bowel as a built-in barometer, and use it to help you determine what things in your life are most stressful," “Log in your food and beverage intake, too. Certain foods and beverages, just like stress, can activate an irritable bowel, so it's also helpful to record in your diary the foods and beverages that give you the most trouble.” You will find that not only beer but other food items that irritate your gut raise your body temperature mildly. Just go off these food items and beer and you will be fine.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
