Liver Cysts

I've been feeling not so well for about a year. A lot of stomach pain, can't really pinpoint any foods that cause the pain as one day it is ok to eat something that may have bothered me before. I have yellow loose stools. Feel tired alot and often get headaches. My hands and feet swell as the day goes on and get pretty itchy. Was told my gallbladder looks normal ( had ct scan with contrast injection) but was asked to come back for an ultrasound I did, which apparently showed enlarged bile ducts, Doc ordered a MRCT which apparently showed multiple liver cysts I am currently waiting for an appt. with a Gastroenterologist, which while frustrating for me seems to be not such a big deal to the docs. Any ideas on what may be going on for me? Can liver cysts be the cause of my symptoms? Should I be seen sooner rather than later? Thanks!

There hasn't been any diagnosis as far as what kind of cysts they are. I am waiting to see a gastroenterologist. Typically how would different cysts be diagnosed? Can it be done with the results of the tests I have already had? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Liver cysts could be due to several causes—simple cysts, polycystic disease, neoplastic cysts, hydatid cyst, and hepatic abscess. What has been the diagnosis in your case?

The urgency for an appointment will depend on the CT and ultrasound finding.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
