One more thought...ask for a copy of the radiology report from your MRI, and a copy of the scan itself. I have European style Borrelia and I had lesions in thw white matter of my brain. Lots of people have 1 or 2 or 3 such lesions, but not a relatively young or healthy person. If you have any, it could help with a diagnosis of Borrelia.
Have you been checked out for Borrelia? Your symptoms are on the list for the disseminated stage of the disease. Docs in the UK are about as unaware of the disease as are docs in the US. From my own research, it seems that arthritis is uncommon with European Borrelia.
Do some research and see what you can find on it. It does seem that many Europeans I have encountered online have had to go to private doctors for treatment. You can learn more on ilads.com.
My own assessment is that it's vagus nerve problem or bulging discs in neck/spine but I'm not sure how to go about getting that investigated?
Neck strains symptoms can include:
Neck pain, especially in the back of the neck, that gets worse with movement
Shoulder pain and muscle spasms
Trouble concentrating
Irritability
Sore throat
Stiffness and difficulty moving the head
Tingling sensations or weakness in the arms
Headache, especially in the back of the head
Difficulty sleeping
Fatigue
Can simple neck strain cause similar symtoms?
In some cases of congenital Chiari, a head or neck injury from a car accident or sports injury triggers the onset of symptoms or worsens exisiting symptoms. I read one study stating "Conversion to symptomatic Chiari I malformation after minor head or neck trauma." so the trauma does not even need to be that severe it seems. Chiari malformation can be also be acquired due to neck and head trauma as well.
The Chiari information is very interesting as I noticed my symptoms get worse after a trampolining accident where I jolted my neck. Can Chiari be caused by physical trauma?
Arnold Chiari Malformation combines neurological and sinus issues so this condition comes to mind. Arnold Chiari Malformation occurs when the lower part of the brain herniates into the spinal canal. The Sagittal View (side view) of an MRI is used to help diagnose a Chiari Malformation.
There is also a harder to diagnose condition called Chiari 0 (0mm or no herniation) however there is a blockage of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow which causes Chiari symptoms. A CINE MRI can see how your CSF is moving and if there are any areas of blockage. A full Spine MRI can check for Syringomyelia, tethered cord and other related conditions. The website Chiari One goes through various symptoms. And the medhelp Chiari Malformation community goes into the "unofficial Symptoms" list :)
