Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Lower right abdominal pain and blood in stool can be due to hemorrhoids, rectal polyps, colon polyps, diverticulosis (outpouchings from the bowel wall), inflammatory bowel disease (IBS, Crohn's, Celiac, ulceative colitis), or dysentery.
You need to consult a gastroenterologist and you may need colonoscopy, or endoscopy apart from stool test. Also log in what you eat and symptoms as they appear. You may be having a food intolerance.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!
What where you doing when the bleeding started? Were you having a BM (bowel movement)? If so, was in normal in size or bigger? Was there any pain with the BM? Is there any blood coming out when you aren't having a BM?
Since you are bleeding somewhere in your GI tract, you definitely need to see a doc. The sooner you see one the better. They will be able to draw labs, such as a CBC (complete blood count) to see if the bleeding is severe enough to warrant immediate action. They will look at your hemoglobin and hematocrit numbers to evaluate the "speed" of your bleeding. They will also do a guaiac stool test to detect blood in your stool.
The first day I noticed the blood it was bright red (don't have a hemmorhoid) and then the next day it was dar red and the stool was tarry looking. My BP is not low!
What color is the blood? Bright red blood indicates a bleed somewhere close to the anus and most commonly comes from a hemmorhoid. Dark red blood/dark and tarry looking stools (also called melena) is due to bleeding from somewhere further up in the GI tract, such as the small/large intestine. Is there a lot of blood? Are you able to take your blood pressure? If you take your blood pressure and it's low (the top number or systolic pressure) is < 100 mmHg I would go to the ER.
