I found out this past summer that I was positive for mono but dont actually know when I first got it. I am also a competitive long distance runner so it was really hard for me to deal with. The only symptoms I felt were extreme fatigue and decreased running performance. I didnt stop running all together, but I drastically backed off on my mileage and stayed away from intense running. I also spent most of the summer sleeping about 16 hours day. I started feeling better, still a little tired but better, and got back into competitive running in mid september. I felt fine up until now, but all of a sudden I feel deprived of energy and unrefreshed after sleeping for a number of hours. I also feel cold a lot...but I am a cold natured person. The thought of going out for a run seems really hard for me right now, but Iam in mid cross country season and I dont want to back off for long if I can help it. I dont know if i am just getting used to being lethargic because I am not working right now or if I actually need the sleep. I also started taking birth control and dont know if that has anything to do with. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
