Lol, That is so funny, I hot a bacteria under my toenails a year ago. First it was take the infected nails off. Then all got infected and i had to remove all toenails and have acid dropped on them. Thank you for trying to help but this isnt a toenail situation. whatever it may be I don't they will find out the answer until im autopsy.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Toenails can get detached due to underlying: infection (fungal or otherwise), dermatitis, psoriasis, and trauma or bleeding. It can also be due to thyrotoxicosis or high levels of thyroid hormones.
I think your friend should discuss these possibilities with a skin specialist or his PCP. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Take care!

I have had the same thing happen, and I was so scared i cryed because I had all sorts of crazy things crossing my mind. I went to the docs and he said it was bad circulation in my feet and when wearing runners I wasnt getting enough. he also said if it was something serious then all the toenails would fall off at the same time. hope that helps a bit :)
