My Bowel Movement Accidents

Good afternoon.

Hi. I recently have had some Bowel Movement accidents.

I am 47 years old.  Weight  282 1bs.(now) down from 320 1bs. (losing it by 1200 calories a day and exercise).

I will feel something sliding down my back, and then I run to the bathroom.  By the time I get to the toilet, Bowel movement (Boo Boo) is in my underwear, my clothes, and on the floor.

Sometimes it is liquid, and sometimes it is mushy.

Also my Bowel Movements are now (Long and Skinny) they used to be fat.

Please help, I have been to the Doctor and they do not know what it is.

I will not feel the urge to go to the bathroom before this.  I just feel something sliding down my back out of no where, and then it is over in a few seconds  Boo Boo everywhere.

P.S...  I have Diabetes type 2, High Blood Pressure, and Fibromyalgia,
I have had a hernia operation years ago (a piece of mesh in my stomach), I have had Cervical Disk Surgery C5-C6 (bone from cadaver and titanium plate).  Complete Hysterectomy (have hot flashes all the time).  I DO NOT KNOW IF THESE THINGS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Please help, Thank you.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Pelvic floor dysfunction, damage to the anal sphincter muscles or nerves of the anal sphincter muscles or the rectum, diarrhea, constipation, and loss of storage capacity in the rectum are a few causes of fecal incontinence or inability to hold stools. Hence IBS should definitely be looked at.
Do discuss this with your gynecologist and get yourself examined. In all probability you have a weak pelvic floor. Kegel exercises may help. Take care!

I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis and this has happened to me before. But I have the symptoms all the time, as in I am always running to the bathroom 24/7, 365... My suggestion is try and get an appointment at a Hospital with a Gastro specialist, as when I went to my GP they had no clue either. At the hosp they should give you examinations such as colonoscopy/endoscopy, barium meal, scans, etc and it should show something up.
Then again I have had all these things done and nothing has been fixed yet. Best of luck to you!

Go back to your doctor and askk him to arrange a coloscopy,it is a test on your bowels not very nice but effective to find out wot the problem is,it do sound like IBS
