'Numb' Knee

Hi.  So a long time ago (like 4 years) (I'm 16 year old girl) I hurt my knee playing softball.  I slid to second and can't remember what actually happened before I got up and limped away.  When I got home, my whole left knee was horribly bruises (I have pictures) so my mom scheduled a doctors appointment.  He said that I just sprained it and to wear a mild knee brace for two weeks.  I did and eventually the bruising and pain subsided. However, ever since then, it has been kind of like numb.  It felt a lot worse in the past, but maybe I'm just getting used to it.  It is on the inside, where most of the bruising was.  It is still very uncomfortable touching the area, but only in a focused area.  For example, poking it with a finger or even shaving it is uncomfortable (which is embarrassing because I don't really shave it).  But like wearing pants or putting your whole hand over it is not so bad.

So I was just wondering what to do if anything or if anyone has had something similar.  I think it's kind of late to tell my parents, but I guess if it could be something important I might.

Could it be like a pinched nerve?  Maybe fluid in there, but it's not swollen.  I really have no idea.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Could be nerve damage.. or it didn't heal correctly. I'd go to the doctor they'll probably give you an x-ray. It's unlikely it will cause other problems, but if it really bothers you it's worth checking out.
