Numbness in leg and arm

I have had a numbness sensation in my left forearm down through my two fingers, pinky and ring, for just over three months now.  I assumed it was due to a pinched nerve and hope that the feeling would subside over time. Well, it hasn't. Now, in addition, I have the same feeling in the top part of my leg from the knee to the hip. And on occasion feeling a horrible burning pain just above the left knee. I have seen two doctors and both have recommended MRI's, something which I plan to do as soon ASAP. One doctor mentioned the possibility of a tumor, seeing as though the numbness was not restricted to one area. Has anyone else had this type of problem, and if so, what was the result and prognosis?

Hi!

I haven't had both at once, allthough I've experienced shoulder issues with symptoms to the arm and fingers (that came of tensions) and pain in my hips due to a weakened abdominal muscle. The two didn't immdiately connect but were relieved with posture changes. The abdominal muscle caused sensations to my legs that were initially diagnosed as sciatic nerve issues but I didn't give in on that and went to a chiropractor and was later sent on rehabilitation and well, it's not present anymore but occassionally.

I'd wait for the MR-scan. My MRI didn't say much but a totally normal degenerative change normal for my age.

The different causes could be atherosclerosis, thyroid disturbances, even lack of vitamin B, nerve injury, medications or as I experienced: Lack of bloodsupply.

Take good care until you have the final answers from the MRI. Do call your physician immediately if there are changes in the symptoms such as confusion or loss of  consciousness (even for a shorter moment) or increased pressure over your chest. Those are more severe neurological outfalls and should be examined by your physician.

Good luck!
