Ocean wounds on ankle

Communities Expert Forums People Full Site Login Signup MedHelp Search > Search Results for Went snorkeling in Florida keys at the first of May and when I got out of the water noticed a small cut on my ankle bone and it was bleeding not very much it didn't hurt and don't k ow how it got there I didn't do nothing to it it was so small that it didn't need nothing and the next day went snorkeling again and didn't cover the little scrape, but the next day my foot swelled up and was red and I was in pain and now it being 2 months later I am in extreme pain and can't do anything because my ankle is hurting. I took two different antibiotics for 10days each time. I have seen a couple of different doctors but they don't listen they said it was gout, and gave me medicine and said I should be fine the next day and I wasn't. Then they said that a sprained ankle I got when I was 25 years old which I am 63 years old now didn't heal right and that made it wear somethings wrong with the tendons in my foot, but I have been construction worker for my whole life and have never had any problems so it makes no since, the doctors aren't even listening to me about how it happened they said if I got antibiotics then there can't be no infection or anything else wrong with my ankle from bacteria or anything else. I am now in more pain than ever and I am scared what could this be how do I get help. It happened at the first of May and now being in July I have got no better. The wound isn't healed all the way normal but it not open its just a scar kind of tissue that's white and hurts really bad

You need to see an infectious disease doctor, and a wound care specialist. There are bacteria and fungi in Florida waters that are dangerous .
Check the internet for Florida water bacteria and fungi concerns.
Also contact Florida dept of health..they may be able to help narrow cause and suggest medications.
