Pain in diaphram when coughing

Woke up today noticing pain in my diaphram area when I cough.  Pain is limited to instant of coughing.  Yes, I am overweight - I think that may have to do with it...but not sure.  First time ever experiencing this; 55 y/o, quit smoking 2001.  No respiratory symptoms history.  Had MRI done a year ago or so - completely normal.

have you been coughing a lot.  some times you can pull something in side and make you sore for a few days.  even hurts to take a deep breath.  I have had this problem.  doesn't last very long.  mandy876

Hernia , bruised rib or pulled muscle , can be caused by sleeping the wrong way, give it 3 days if its doesnt get better get it checked by doctor, dont think its anything serious, hope that helps
