Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The various causes of leg pain are atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis - leg pain on walking (A blood clot in a deep vein), Leriche syndrome (block in abdominal aorta and/or main leg artery), limb ischaemia (low oxygen to limbs), sciatica, spondylitis of lower vertebrae and peripheral vascular disease (arteries of limbs are involved). Doppler tests should be done to rule out the possibility of involvement of an artery or vein.
The symptoms in your case could also be due to spinal nerve compression in the lumbo-sacral region. This can occur due to spondylosis, narrowing of root canal, bulging disc, reduced disc space, tumors etc. A MRI of the region can help you diagnose this.
It could also be ankle sprain, tarsal tunnel syndrome or arthritis of ankle joint causing nerve impingement and pain. Do discuss with your doctor and first try and find the cause. Take care!
Sounds like you need to see your PCP or a rheumatologist. When I first started reading this, I was thinking nerve pain. But nerve pain would not cause a lump on your ankle. You need to have blood test to see whether you may have rheumatoid arthritis
you realy should get checked out by a dr, if you have and not happy with the treatment they have recommended i would go to another dr.
