Pains that travel about the body

I had debilitating pains in my lower back, had difficulty even standing up straight... they went away... came back in my left elbow... same difficulty in movement... very painful... felt like the elbow had shattered, and tendons were raking over splintered bone... that went away after a month or so... now the same pain is in my right elbow... makes no sence! What is this kind of thing?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
One possibility is fibromyalgia. Apart from fibromyalgia this can be due to hypothyroidism, low Vitamin D levels, Low Vit B12 levels, anemia, Hashimotos thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, SLE, electrolyte disturbance particularly those involving calcium and magnesium, parathyroid gland problems, chondrocalcinosis and chronic fatigue syndrome.
The best thing would be to consult a general practitioner or PCP and try and assess what is the cause of your problem. Then proper referral for concerned specialist can take things further and get you proper treatment. Take care!

Hi Babes,
I suffer from a condition called Fibromyalgia which was caused through a car crash and the shock through my body from the impact. Pain travels through the body in different places, some days like you said it can be in right elbow then day after in the left. This condition is extremely painful and can be disabling, unfortunately it is for me, and the pain is throughout my body but different day by day.
There is a test for this condition, but no cure, just medication to alleviate the pain.
Hope this as helped in some way.
