Penis skin getting dry & developing crack & also having a burning sensation

I am having a strange problem for the first time in my life. i am 27 years old. Suddenly one day i discovered that there is a white layer on my penis under my foreskin, on the glans. I had pain on the foreskin when i was pulling it back to clean it with water. the layer was pretty thick and needed time to get off. i used to clean with warm water but keeps coming back daily. Also when i rub the layer off or wash it away, My foreskin becomes extremely dry and develops cuts as the skin tears apart and takes time to heal and repeats every time. Also some kind or mild burning on my foreskin on inner layer. and the pain grows when my penis is erect. i cannot bare the pain to get my foreskin back when erect. i dont have any sex. please advise me a cure & also the reason for the same.

PS My comment regarding thrush was to clarify that thrush is yeast of the mouth and yeast affecting the vagina and penis is referred to as a  simple yeast infection.

My first instinct when reading your complaint was a yeast infection, men can have them as well. Thrush is yeast in the mouth/tounge. I suspected your sexual partner had a yeast infection but you stated you do not have sex. To rule out this you can purchase cream at the pharmacy made for vaginal infections. Get the 7 day treatment that provides a tube of cream and apply. If this does not improve your symptoms go to a general practitioner.
I am not a physician and can not oficially diagnose your problem simply draw on experience.

Thanks for your help, the Canesten Cream that you mentioned should be applied to the entire head of the penis rite, also can i apply it on the outer skin as even the outer skin is crackin & there is a lot of itching on the head & outer skin of the penis.

Last question is whether there is any side effects on using Canesten Cream

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The cuts or cracks are usually due to tight foreskin. The erection stretches this tight foreskin which then cracks at places. The phimosis or tight foreskin causes smegma to form a dry layer at tip of penis. There are many creams available for local application which can loosen the foreskin. Good personal hygiene is also important in keeping the foreskin loose. Infection of tip of penis or balanitis is often a cause. A swab test should be sent for culture and often a small surgery is required to correct this if medication is not helping. Consult an urologist for this.
Hope this helps. Take care!

I am a male nurse and think that what you are describing is thrush. This would cause the white layer and also cause the tightness to the foreskin which causes cracking. You can get cream from your local chemists. Canesten Cream should do the job. If its not on the shelf ask the pharmacist. A little embarrassment a lot less pain.

Hope this eases your anxiety.
