Possible Motor Neurons

Hi Everyone, i've been spending hours trailing sites looking for some kind of advice or help with what i am going through.I just don't know how to handle this myself anymore.I will give yous a little insight into what has been happenning to me .
Since August last year i have had severe pain all around my torso and abdomen.I have had a lot of tests done because at the start the docs thought my lower torso pain was coming from my boweL.Unfortunatly that isn't the case.I started experiencing muscle twitching, spasms and vibrating muscles since Christmas past. Then the fatigue started setting in and constant muscular pain all over my body.
About 2 months ago i started developing a tremor and my left eyelid started closing on regular occasions. Then i started experiencing facial paralysis andnumbness in different areas of my body at different times. My arms get so sore and i frequently get electric shocks down my arms.I swear that is how it feels, as though i've been zapped by a million volts.
I was put on Robaxin to try and control the constant spasms and quinine to help my legs.My doctor has told me that i seem to be displaying signs of motor neurons disease and has referred me to a neurologist. But that was  a month ago and i still haven't recieved my appointment.I would love to hear from anyone out there who experiences similar symptoms to me or if there is anyone who can advice me on better meds to help with the muscle pains.Just last week my doctor started me on 40mgs a day of diazepam to give my muscles a little bit of a break.

I can't thank you enough with your response, your wisdom and knowledge is well appreciated.I live un N.ireland therefore come under the nhs system.I did recieve a letter stating i was on a waiting list.Do you think i could ask for a quicker appointment. Its just that even with the massive dose of diazepam and robaxin i am on, i am still having these twitches spasms and trembling limbs. There is actually a part of my back that feels like a red hot poker. My memory is becoming a worry too as i my short term memory is becoming non existant.I am going to use all the advice you have given me.I am actually a regular member on another Health forum but they do not really cover the issues that this site does.
     Thank you so much again,
                Marty

Muscle pain/spasm/tremors/twitching takes energy away leaving
fatigue. Muscle mass will burn 1st usually before fat cells if
you don't keep moving & toned. The wt. loss is alot & you may
be having some muscle atrophy. Avoid junk/fatty foods as they
cause inflammation to tissue. Try to do minimal stretches to
alongate them within easy tolerance. Apples have good carbs as
w/ other fruits. Sweet potatoes are a high antioxidant & help
build bodies ability to deal w/ problems. B100 complex might
help since they work on nerve cells/conduction. You didn't say
type of healthcare (NHS)/US or what type Dr. you were seen by.
Get copies of bloodwk from ofc for hm-file & see what labs were
done. It would help to know how detailed MD was. Read this
board & you'll scroll to many people w/ similar symptoms you
might relate to. Gd-luck.

Yes, you forgot to mention something very significant. The hemm.
in left eye can be a simple hemm. to a vascular problem do to
compression. Maybe a sign of hypertension even from a blockage
that may be 'distant' from the eye. Ask Dr. for exact name of
what they suspect the eye finding is & get copies of labs. I
know how 'slow' NHS is from New Zealand to UK. I think Ireland
is better. Ask your doc to help speed up process & order a
brain mri. You want to get that done soon. May be a longer wait
to schedule that. Hope to get there someday. All my ancestors
are from there in towns outside Galway & Doolan (sp?). Neice
just born was given Gaelic name for Rose. Gd-luck.

The Diaz./Robaxin is a good start for helping you until your
Neuro appt. You need to push harder for appt time or I'm
guessing you're w/ NHS? Neuro needs to do a clinical evaluation
along w/ a mri of brain/c-spine. It would save time if your Dr.
could order those tests now before Neuro appt. & results could
be faxed to Neuro & read pre-appt. They need to narrow down as
to where problem is. Could be mis-firing of neurons in a part
of brain sending msg to spine or even vice-versa. Sometimes
problem is where everything in spine scrunches together at base
of skull. A quick onset of a tremor of an upper limb is often
response from the neck nerves & not a disease. Inflammation of
tissue can snowball. Try not to be on meds 2 days before tests/
scans. They will mask severity of problem. Tough it out so Dr.
can evaluate a clear response. Gd-luck.
