Rashes Over 7 months

I've been having this rashes all over the body for 7 months now. It started around the belly area and gradually advances all over my body expecially around my shoulder, arms and abdoment.  The ichy rashes occur almost every 2 days and each time i have to take anti-histamine (Loratadine 10mg). Then the rashes will disappear without any trace at all. The rashes is red, raised and round between 5mm to 60mm in diameter. I've visited the our local hospital 4 times already and even had my blood taken for general analysis but nothing suspicious found. I also have a cyst behind the back of my ear for over a year now. I'd never been allergic to anything before and besides this rashes, i haven't fell sick this past 12 months. I guess it's my yoga practice.  BTW,  i'd like to know if this cyst might has something to do with my recurring rashes. Pls somebody help me. I'll be visiting my doctor this Friday.

Hi,

It could be eczema, sweat dermatitis, allergic reactions or eczema.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema. Keeping the affected area moistened can promote skin healing and relief of symptoms.

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination.

I'm sorry the site didn't help.  Have you been to an allergist.  I believe the rash is some type of allergy, probably something you use, wear or ingest on a regular basis.  I wouldn't think the cyst is related.  Cysts behind the ear can be removed.  If you are still without relief since seeing the doctor, then try blending dry oatmeal until fine in a blender and pouring into a hot bath and soaking for relief and see if that helps until this gets figured out.  I would ask your doc to send you to an allergist.  Hope this helps.

Go to the website of familydoctor.org, and put in rash for the symptom search, they have a symptom, diagnosis and self-care chart to assist you with what type of rash this may be.  You can also go to google.com  and search for more websites that have information on it.
