Recurring tongue mark

I have a recurrent spot on the front left portion of my tongue. It starts off with the papillae being a little rough and within a day or so of that, they start to disappear. The spot then grows over the next couple days. It's ovalish, with no heavily defined border, no pain, bleeding, discharge or anything like that. Sometimes there's moderate sensitivity to hot beverages and within a week or weak and a half, the papillae start to grow back in and the spot completely disappears. This comes back again in 1.5-2 months. Do you have any idea what it could be?
