Red dots on inner thighs near pubic area.

I am 17 years old. I have about 20-25 red dots spread around my inner thighs near pubic area but not on it (being the scrotum, pubic hair area, or penis).  These red dots are barley raised off of the skin. The largest are a bit bigger then the size of a pencil eraser. The smallest being a little smaller then half the circumference of a pencil eraser. I HAVE NEVER HAD any kind of SEX (be it anal, oral, vaginal). Like I said before it is not directly on anything  the immediate pubic area.

I play soccer and I do sweat down there. Although, it does not look like heat rash. I wear compression shorts only while playing games. I have noticed these spots for about a week now and they seem to be lessening a bit or staying the same.

I have Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP 0.1% (Triamcinolon)-(Steroid cream..?) which was originally prescribed for mosquito bites. Should I use that cream on them? I also have Lupin 203 (Cefuroxme 250MG) (antibiotic...?) for my acne.. which i rarely have now. What should I do?

I need help. They red dots don't itch much and are not in clusters they are just spread all around, PLEASE HELP ME find out what going on though because it is a  bit annoying.

Hello,

There are a few possibilities for this kind of rash.It can be a fungal infection(Tinea cruris) or a contact or irritant ( xerotic) dermatitis.

Wash your groin and inner thighs daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day. and do not share other people’s towels.Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.Pls don’t apply any medicated powder or cream without informing your dermatologist as it may aggravate the condition.Powder may also clog the skin pores leading to more dampness and hence more fungal growth.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.
