Requip and involuntary muscle thrashing

I have been taking Requip for approx.  4 weeks.  This past week I have experienced nocturnal involuntary uncontrolable muscle twitching, confusion and nightmares.  Is there a connection and how long for this med to clear out of my system.

ALLELUIA!!!  Three nights without requip and I slept like a baby.  I guess it takes 3 days for the "requip" to leave your system.  Please anyone out there be careful of this drug.  I wouldn't never recommend it to anyone.

Hi KatEyes, thank you for your response.  The thrashing I have is not normal.  It really gets violent.  The first night off Requip was much better but the second night was a little worse.  My PCP said there is (dopamine?) in the med.  I don't know anything about that.  I did read on the internet that it(requip) can rarely  cause grand mal seizures.  The drugest told me it takes 3 days to clear out of my system.  My thought is do I really have RLS or is it just nervousness.  I will go to the web-site you suggested.  Thank you.

Hi. I have Periodic Limb Movement Disorder and in the past have thrashed a lot at night. At one point when my meds were too high, and also when I took some cold medicines or drank caffeine, I would experience extreme agitation, thrashing, with my mind stuck on one repetitive thought all nite, or dreaming wild dreams.  I had to back off my dosage and start over at a lower dose. Was on Sinemet then, now on Mirapex. Doc prescribed Requip but I wanted to wait due to side effects and the adjustment phase. You might want to check askapatient.com to see if other Requip users have similar issues.  Best wishes.
