Severe Rectal and Abdominal Pains

I am 18 years old. For a number of years i have been complaining of problems of all different sorts. I have been getting severe shooting pains in my lower abdomin, and rectum. The pains are to the point where i can't move and any position i am in, it hurts. They usually last for 5-45 minutes. and sometimes brought on by intercourse or after eating. It is also accompanied by breathing problems but i'm not sure if it's from the pain or not. After the pain subsides sometimes i'll feel a wierd feeling right below my chest; however, i don't know if that is related or not. Any answers?? i need some soon!

I had the same problem it to me felt like something really really big was coming out of my rectum, like lots and lots of pressure build up and all you can do it sit or lie in the same place because it hurts to bad to move. well let me tell you they found out it was endometriosis go to your obgyn and let them know tell them you want to have a laproscopy and hystoscopy and d n c this will let them know if you have it or not.  Also do not believe them if they say they dont see it on ultra sound that is because it does not show up unless it is very very very bad. and thats not good

Hi,

'Lower right abdominal pain shall be defined as abdominal pain occurring to the right of an imaginary line drawn below the belly button or umbilicus.'

http://www.abdopain.com/lower-right-abdominal-pain.html

You need to consult a doctor to rule out appendicitis, kidney stones, diverticulitis, crohn's disease, pelvic inflammatory disease etc.

The further plan of management would involve -

'-Blood tests including full blood count, electrolytes, urea, creatinine, liver function tests, pregnancy test and lipase.
-Urinalysis
-Imaging including erect chest X-ray and plain films of the abdomen
-An electrocardiograph to rule out a heart attack which can occasionally present as abdominal pain

If diagnosis remains unclear after history, examination and basic investigations as above then more advanced investigations may reveal a diagnosis. These as such would include

-Computed Tomography of the abdomen/pelvis
-Abdominal or pelvic ultrasound
-Endoscopy and colonoscopy'

Let us know about what your doctor advises and if you need any further information.

Regards.
