Shaking, dizziness, vertigo, anxiety, inability to concentrate

My husband has been experiencing strange symptoms for almost a week. For the first few days they were mild and not all at once. The symptoms included shaking in the hands, dizziness, vertigo, anxiety and inability to concentrate. The day before last he left work early because the symptoms started coming all at once and very intense. I got home from work a few hours later and he was shaking so bad he could hardly walk and had a lot of trouble bringing food to his mouth. We went to urgent care who sent us the the e.r. They ran all kinds of tests: blood work, ct scan, ekg, xrays and everything was normal. They sent us home. He slept fitfully and the next morning the symptoms were much worse. He couldn't drink from a water cup because the shaking was in his hands, neck and arms, couldn't walk without assistance and was vomiting. We went to another e.r. they ran the same tests plus an mri but ultimately said the same thing. All vitals and tests were normal. After checking around online we asked of it could be an inner ear problem. They said it's possible but they cannot check for that, to follow up with an ear doctor. Vestibular Neuritis fits all of his symptoms except the shaking which is the scariest and most prevalent symptom. He was prescribed valium and an anti nausea medicine. Both seem to help some but do not eliminate the shaking, vertigo or dizziness. He has been sleeping most of the time since we got home from the hospital. Does anyone had any insight as to what this could be? Could it be inner ear? Is it mental or physical or both?

I meant to add this:

All those questions I asked could help define what is happening to him. Without knowing more, I would have to say just from the looks of it that it seems like panic/anxiety.  But I sure don't want to dismiss it as just that.

It needs to be investigated by a doctor who has an inquiring mind, not just one who half-listens while writing out your prescription.  Good luck finding one!

Did your husband start any new medications on or before his symptoms first appeared?  Is he on any daily meds?  If so, what are they?

Is he under more stress than normal?  Is something particularly stressful for him right now?  How does he normally handle stress?

What kind of chronic health problems does your husband have?  Is he diabetic?  Does he have digestive problems?  Kidney problems?

Did your husband start a new diet just before this started, or did he eat anything atypical to his diet?  Was he eating too much of one thing?  Or did he stop eating a food he normally eats?  Vitamin and mineral deficiencies play a huge role in the acquisition of diseases, so the importance of proper diet cannot be overstated.

About a year ago, I had extreme jitteriness, dizziness, numbness in my legs, falling down.  I realized over time that this was in part caused by Prevacid, a drug which causes your magnesium level to be depleted.  This can lead to some of the symptoms I was having.  I was under extreme stress as well.  Every aspect of your life can play into the development of any unexplained illness.  I went to 3 different doctors, including an inner ear doctor, who said everything seemed to be fine.  But I wasn't. They didn't listen to me.  Even though they couldn't give me any answers, they sure had no problem charging me huge bills with nothing to show for it.

In short, I did some research on my own and started on a whole foods type diet, paying closer attention to getting nutrients from food, not from man-made vitamins, which doctors now warn against.  I still have some jitteriness but it's no where near as bad as before.  Most of the other symptoms have gone away but it took time.  And I was able to get off Prevacid altogether.

Hope this helps.
