Small bumps all over body that come & go that itch...no one knows what it is

In Jan my g/f started itching in different places on her body. It started as itching and then a few weeks later it was red dots then after about a month it looks like hives or little ant bites she will get in different areas at different times. She has been to 3 different doctors and has been told it was scabies, dry skin, dermatitis, hives, infection has gotten into the blood stream, by different doctors on different visits. On the last visit she had a biopsy and skin scrape and the dermatologist told her it was dermatitis, but it has not gotten better. Over the past 3 months it has not gotten worse but has not gotten better either. About 3 weeks ago I started itching and am very slowly have the same symptoms she has, right now I have the red dots and a few very small white puss filled bumps. Scabies was tested for and that is not it. The last doctor says it's definitely dermatitis, but that's not contagious and I have definitely gotten it.

*Sometimes very small White bumps appear that get red and irritated when scratched. (looks like ant bites)

*Sometimes they are red specks that feel flush with your skin. (10-30 very faint red dots on the underside of forearm or on the top of hand)

*Some of the bumps are larger than others and some have puss in them. (like an ant bite)

*They break out at random times and in different places. home, work...on hands, arms, legs, feet, butt, thighs, stomach...the more you scratch the more raised the bumps become and the more that pop up.

*Anti-itch creams don't help, benadryl does not help, the creams the doctor has prescribed do not reduce the itch or make the break outs stop.

She is just tired of paying co-pays to doctors that can't tell her what it is and wasting money on prescribed creams that don't work. I don't have insurance so I'm not about to start the drama she has been going through the past 3 months. Nothing in our environment has changed that could have caused this to happen. Same shampoo's same apartment, same furniture...same everything.

Any one have any ideas?

The red dots looks like this: http://************/upload/_A_Forums/Alkaline/Mole_removal_week1/kp_la_no_bumps_w1_1.jpg

Kind of spread out but in a general area. They come and go.

I could not find a pic of what the white bumps look like. But there are maybe 5-10 in a centralized area, such as on the backside of the hand and move up the wrist. They are about the size of a ball point pen head.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It may be urticaria which is usually triggered by allergens, such as drugs, foods, insect bites, inhaled substances, in response to sunlight, cold, heat, stress, exercise, or a viral infection. Other common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, or cosmetics. Since your girlfriend experiences an itch, just go over these possibilities in your mind. Something may strike you.
Itchy localized rash can be due to allergic dermatitis, eczema, contact dermatitis, shingles, psoriasis, fungal infection like or Tinea corporis. It can also be a staphylococcal skin infection. Another thing to consider is H pylori infection of the gut with rash. In this one has acidity like symptoms along with rash.
Please consult another dermatologist for confirmation.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
