What comes to mind is a neck or upper back injury causing the pain in the head and neck and it may be pinching on  a nerve that is causing calf pain. An MRI of the upper back/neck might be in order. I know my back pain radiates down the back of my leg and calf. It is just a thought. I'm not sure why antibiotics will make your pain worse. I hope you can at least get something for pain in the interim. Do antiinflammatories work on you?
