Sore throat (one side) swollen gland (one side) clogged ear (one side)

I have had a sore throat (only on the right side), swollen and tender right lymph node, and it feels like my right ear is a little clogged although it does not hurt.  It has seemed to come and go over the last 3 weeks.  I do not have my tonsils, and I have tested negative for strep. I do not snore or sleep under a ceiling fan.  It seems really weird to have a sore throat this long. What else should I be tested for

My questions to you are: do you have a fever, and do you have any pus in the throat? Did they only do a rapid strep test on you?  I know you tested negative for strep but it could be non group A strep (which is what they test for on the rapid strep test). There are several other strains of strep that cause sore throat and can be important. So, it partially depends on your symptoms and then whether you can find out if they did a strep culture as well.
