Spontaneous muscle weakness/contractions

About 10 days ago I had an unusual sensation in my right forearm, like a weakness. It came on suddenly, lasted a few seconds and dissipated. Over the next couple of days it happened more frequently, each time lasting only a few seconds. Then the feeling started to extend into my right leg when it happened. Over the past few days the feeling (which feels absolutely horrible, I can't even describe what it does feel like) has become more intense and is pulling my fingers down towards my hand and pulling my toes toward the sole of my foot and I can feel twitching in my wrist. The episodes vary in frequency from day to day, but they are now longer lasting. Coughing deeply, lifting things, getting up out of bed or from sitting for a while, and stretching seems to bring on these attacks, although I have had them just lying in bed at night, not moving at all. I have looked and looked online for anything that this could be and posted on the neurology forum here but am getting no clues as to what it might be.

I agree. I have had neurological problems for years. Doctors can't figure out exactly what I have, but your syptoms sound neurological in nature. You need to see a neurologist asap!

Hello!
This sounds like something that needs to be taken care of immediately! For some reason you are having muscle spasms...This could be from an electrolyte imbalance, spinal cord compression in your neck area, a brain tumor, blood vessel issues in your head, or a disease that effects nerve communication...Get this checked out! This is progressing and, if left untreated may lead to something very horrible and irreversible...I'm not trying to scare you....Please, please, please get this checked as soon as possible..
