Suvere sudden Diarrhea attacks help...

Wow reading all of this is so familiar. I am 25 now when I was 16 I started getting these weird attacks. This is what happens.....
Mild attack.....
A wash of goose pimples cover my whole body starting at my feet and a small gurgle in my tummy gives me a 5 minute warning that I have to find a toilet.
Next I find a toilet and get an agonising spasm in my lower abdomen which lasts for about 2 minities. During this time if I’m at home I bite a rolled up bath towel to try and cope with the pain.
Then my stomach gurgles and I pass a hard stool
Then I sit for anything up to 10 mins waiting for the next cramp then it comes and I double over. This time as soon as the cramp goes I have a really big bout of Diarrhea
This goes on for anything up to an hour when it’s finally finished me feel exhausted I clean myself up and go to sleep for an hour. Then wake up and after drinking some water feel fine.

SEVERE ATTACK.....
My stomach feels with air and I look like I’m pregnant
A wash of goose pimples starts at my feet then a 5 min window to get to the toilet.
Next I have a major lower abdomen spasm which has me doubled over in agony biting on a rolled up bath towel and moaning like a cat being strangled then the spasm ends and I pass a hard stool.
Next my mouth starts to produce lots of saliva to the point where I can literally open my mouth and saliva will just pour out
I go hot then cold, my chest tightens and I can’t breathe and I start to wheeze.
I get another spasm so severe that I feel like I’m going to be sick. I can feel the vomit rising up my body and then I vomit really badly and at exactly the same time Diarrhea decides to come out at the same time (very problematic as you can imagine)
Then that spasm ends I can sit for anything up to 20mins before the next spasm
This continues for up to 2 ½ hours when it finally ends I feel weak and exhausted I go to bed with a hot water bottle on my tummy.
At the end my tummy is flat as a pancake.

Treatment.
I have seen doctor’s specialists they have all thought it was different things I have been tested for the following things as far as I know and all came back clear...
Bowel cancer
Gladstone’s
Crone’s disease
I have been told it’s probably IBS although I seriously doubt that
I have been told its stress or anxiety I have been told it food diet etc
Maybe an allergy. I have had blood tests fecal samples tested for worms and thyroids tested vitamin levels in my blood tested I have gone on a wheat free diet for 6 weeks during that time I had 5 attack all quite severe. I have cut out diary same thing several attacks during my dairy free weeks. I had and Endoscopy results everything perfect. I then had a colonoscopy they gave me clean prep (bloody disgusting stuff those of you that have had it will understand) Clean prep is designed to flush out your system by emptying your bowels you are given 4 ½ liters to drink and are supposed to have movement after drinking the first half a litre. I drank 4 ½ Litres and nothing moved. My tummy swelled up and sounded like a full hot water bottle every time I moved. I started drinking the clean prep the day before my colonoscopy and didn’t have any movement at all until I was in the waiting room of the hospital. (as you can imagine it was embarrassing and so smelly I stank the whole waiting room out not to mention noisy I was so humiliated) and to top it all despite all this they did my colonoscopy and my results were as always perfect. I have had scans of my upper and lower abdomen (can you guess) everything normal. In 2001 my attacks started and I started having regular blood tests to check for abnormalities everything was perfect with my blood until 2006 when suddenly I developed a vitamin b12 and folic acid deficiency. I now have B12 injections every 3 months for ever and take folic acid every morning.
I have had homeopathy treatment... (Didn’t stop the attacks but calmed them for abit then stopped working all together)
Doctors have more or less given me up as a lost cause and I am still just living my life as best I can and just dealing with these attacks please help any ideas I cant live my whole life with these attacks they hurt too much.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Generally if no cause is found a diagnosis of IBS is made. Also Crohn’s disease is a difficult entity to diagnose. Along with gut symptoms skin disorders (like the one you have) and arthritis too are commonly seen with Crohn’s. An upper GI series using barium dye is done to see the condition of small intestines. The degree of involvement of the large and small intestine may vary from person to person.  A biopsy is the most confirmatory.
An elevated ESR does confirm inflammation in the body. Low protein, minerals and iron in blood are the other findings in Crohn’s which may or may not be present. A recent advancement in Crohn’s diagnosis is video capsule endoscopy.
H pylori infection too could be the cause. This bacteria is found in stomach area that is strongly linked with gastric and duodenal ulcer. Diagnosis is generally by carbon urea breath test. The bacteria can also cause hives. Treatment is control of acidity, lifestyle changes and antibiotics. Consult a gastroenterologist regarding this.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

It also sounds like IBS to me. I have IBS and the exact same thing has been happening since I was 16. It has gotten worse and I was just diagnosed about a year and a half ago. I am also lactose intolerant and eating dairy only makes it worse.
People used to laugh at me because I would get an attack and no matter where I was I would start sweating and have to find a toilet ASAP, and I do not like public bathrooms, so this made it worse. I would ask your Doctor to try meds for IBS, sometimes they help me and sometimes they dont! I sometimes use the restroom up to 10 times a day on a bad day! And sometimes I cant use the restroom for up 4 days!!! Try it and see if they work!

Sounds like it could be irritable bowel syndrome or even a case of lactose intolerence. Eat a bowl of cereal with milk on it. C how long it takes to hit the toilet after eating.

Wasn't your gallbladder ever checked? How about your kidney's? Do you drink enough water and only eat small meals Very slowly? Eat only when you aren't stressing. I know all of this is a nightmare and you want it to be over with. I hate it so much. People that dont have this problem have no idea how debilitating it is. The more you worry about  it, it will be worse. What kind of meds have you tried?
