Swelling in body

I have been tested for just about everything including arthritis, thyroid problems etc.  The problem i have is that my body swells up from head to toe.  The tops of my arms, my elbows, knees, shins, tops of feet, jaw etc.  I am swollen 24/7.

Doctors can't figure out what is wrong with me.  I do know that i get horribly worse when my time of the month comes around, but the hormone/thyroid tests came back fine.

I don't have cancer, i don't have antiinflammatory diseases, i am at a loss.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Yes, that is a possible reason you are having water retention. You have to find the cause for this anemia and treat it. Consult a good hematologist. Your PCP can also help you out.
Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I did forget to mention i have iron deficiency anemia that doesn't go away.  Could this cause water retention that won't go away either?

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
There are other factors like polycystic ovary, high sodium, adrenal gland dysfunction, Hashimotos thyroidits (so get a thyroid antibody done), anemia, low protein in blood.
Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
