Hi! You probably have a boil or abscess on your ear lobe. Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too.  In your case in all probability it is the outer ear infection.
You need a course of antibiotics and maybe need to get this abscess, if that’s what it is, drained. Please consult your PCP immediately. Take care!

Def. go to the doctor and have it checked out. Normally with strep throat lymph nodes on either side swell. I wouldn't mess around with it. Especially if the lymp node itself is NOT sore.

Lymph nodes swell when there is an infection. They are the organ that helps fight off the infection. Sounds like your ear may have an infection, is your ear pierced? Go to the doctor and have them take a look at it. Im sure its nothing too serious now, but sounds like time will make it worse
