The list of symptoms is too long...

I was labeled a hypochondriac at an early age. I've always had a long list of symptoms, and no one can tell me what is wrong. I've been labeled with fibromyalgia, because they "didn't know what else to call it". So, here goes the list: constant ear ringing, headaches, constant congestion, dizziness, forgetfullness, panic attacks, depression, stomach pain and bloating, loss of period, fatigue, hands and feet always cold, weight gain, difficulty losing weight, joint pain, asthma, chronic athlete's foot, heart palpitations, tingling in the hands and feet, and no libido (I'm sure there are a few I've missed). Anyone have any ideas or am I just "crazy" like my family has always said?

I would consider seeing a physician who knows how to diagnose and treat both fibro & chronic fatigue syndrome.

Good luck !

Thank you for your suggestions. I have been tested for Lupus, and the results have come back negative for the last six months. I just found out about candida the other day and was wondering about that myself. I have made a doc appt for 2 weeks from now to discuss and be tested for this very issue. We'll see what they say and go from there. Thanks for all of your encouragement. I'll keep you posted "notquiteright"!

Ever been tested for candida?  A candida overgrowth can cause your symptoms, and the athletes foot (fungus overgrowth) is a good sign that you may have the fungus elsewhere, like in your stomach.  Google candida and I am pretty confident that your symptoms will be what you find.  Not saying that is your problem for sure, but it is a very good start to look at.  If you don't want to get tested you can just do the strict candida diet, take a good probiotic, and maybe an anti-fungal if you want and see if after a month or so you see results.

hmm i have the same problem! it seems that as soon as you mention having more than 1 sympton they just give you "that" look, you know the one i mean! i have very similar symptoms and i've had the same response, noone really beleives that you can be so ill and look so normal and yeah i wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't partly down to depression, who wouldn't be depressed if they were ill and noone beleived them lol!

i'll keep an eye on this thread to see if you get any results, i'll be interested to see what comes of it.

Has anyone ever suggested you be tested for systemic lupus?  There are some blood tests which can indicate this autoimmune disease, which has numerous symptoms, many of them vague and seemingly trivial in isolation.  It is the collection of symptoms which causes the problems in this major disease.  Whether this is your problem needs to be ruled out or identified.  Talk it over with your doctor and if they are unsympathetic or initial tests are inconclusive maybe consider researching private doctors specialising in autoimmune conditions.  Complex symptoms can respond well to alternative medicine such as accupuncture, so it is worth looking into this too.  There is always a reason for any symptom, and if it worries you it is a problem, regardless of what any doctor tells you.  Doctors only work at the level of their personal knowledge, competence, level of training and desire to help.  Your doctors may be great, or not, but they are not infallible oracles of knowledge.  Do what you can to help yourself regarding a healthy lifestyle and positive thinking, and if you are not coping alone, find a doctor who will not stereotype and dismiss you.  "Hypochondria" is a diagnosis, and a serious mental condition, it is not a casual dumping term for undiagnosed symptoms.  If you are a hypochondriac then you need psychological help, but most likely you are not, just an undiagnosed person.  Don't lose confidence and be labelled.  It's your health, your life, and no-one has the right to make a judgement on what you are feeling.  Hope this helps.
