Thyroid, adrenals, I'm crazy??

Looking for any suggestions to take back to my Endocrinologist.
33 female

2.5 yrs now suffering w/these symptoms (ill list below) I've gone to many Primary doctors & Endo's begging for help. I've had many test done (multiple times), full thyroid panel is "perfect", Negative for Cushings, IR/Diabetes, STDs/HIV, TB. I DO have low cortisol, Low Vitamin D, High testosterone. I have pcos & whatever is wrong w/me has made my pcos go Haywire. Pcos became worse AFTER this "illness" started up. Vitamin d won't/hasn't come back up w/meds. Was put on BC pills for the pcos, which 1 has made my symptoms even worse 2 I know BC is not proper treatment.

Weight gain-packed it on fast-60+lbs

Goiter- seen w/ultrasound goiter w/two nodules. It goes up & down in size. It was choking me, they started to shrink. Now going back up but feels like a mans 'Adams apple'. It feel like it's being pressed into my throat, it's sore & burns 24/7. No sore throat though. (I have no tonsils FYI)

Stress-I get really angry or cry easily

Heart palpitations(?) like a chugging/clogged feeling that makes me gasp for air. It happens at least 3x a week. I can be awoken out of my sleep, just sitting calmly etc. it happens.

Brain fog-light headed, dizzy, confusion, can't think or speak properly often.
No energy-never a boost, 24/7 its low
I want to sleep all day but can't sleep but 3-5hrs.

Skin has become very dry a little itchy all over. Now on back of hands & a few other spots on arms, become red. If I feel really sick backs of hands turn red/itch.
Lost a lot of hair & my scalp feels tender, no sores.

My mild life long anxiety has become Agoraphobia. I take Ativan now (only as needed. maybe 1x a week)  no, I'm not addicted. I don't take it unless I'm having attack. My attacks come out of no where, I have no warning. I treat it during & not before. Doc gave the ok.

Depression has become worse (of course)

I've noticed a very tiny droop to left side of face. Left top eyelid droops lower, left cheek & left corner of mouth look a little off and a tad lower.

I've had this odd back pain in the right kidney area. I was checked by CT scan, ultrasound & told kidney looks fine, urine is fine. Now it's happening on the left side. Hot stabbing & throbbing feeling. Scared because my Mom almost died from Kidney disease as a kid.

I also have IBS-d (just always told I have it) Told possibly gluten allergies too
Never been checked for Chrons

I'm getting some unknown infection showing up in blood work 4 times last year. One of the times my surgeon (had emergency gall bladder surgery.) said I have an infection that couldn't be traced & they didn't believe it to be linked w/gall bladder. I stayed extra 3 days (total of 5) in hospital because they said basically the meds were having a very hard time attacking the infection. No info on WTH all that was about. (I'm extremely allergic to Penicillin if that matters?)

My doctors say this or that is odd but apparently aren't concerned to dig deeper. I was put on Phentermine for my weight (it doesn't bother my anxiety or panic, odd I know) plus b12 injections weekly. None of that has ever given me energy, at all. I take half the pill & fall back asleep, no prob. It has helped w/ appetite control & im losing weight. As I said before I'm on BC pills, I take magnesium (uterine issues), prenatal Vitamins, prescription vit D 2xweek. I WAS taking Metformin & Myo-ino for pcos, it did nothing. Newer Endo said I shouldn't have ever been on those. (I have type2 pcos, no IR/No diabetes). I don't want any more pills thrown at me unless I actually need them.  Therapy is now suggested, great but now more pills. If my mental is becoming worse from a condition/illness/disease/disorder wouldn't fixing that help the mental. Therefore more drugs for mental aren't really needed. IMO!

I rarely ever drink caffeine, no coffee. Once in awhile Green tea. I drink loads of water daily. I never drink any alcohol, no smoking, no drug abuse/use. I try keep down on dairy (im lactose intolerant) I avoid soy (bad for my pcos)

Wondering if it's thyroid, adrenals, pituitary gland ??

Hello~Have you considered seeing a naturopathic physician? From the looks of all your symptoms, I would say one of them would be very beneficial to have a consultation with. I would say you have both weak adrenals and thyroid. You need some good herbs and vitamin/mineral supplements to help strengthen them, also, I highly suggest being tested for food, chemcial and environmental allergies. Another reason comes to my mind as well for all your issues, and that is the gut yeast infection called Candida, a simple stool test can help to rule that out.

I would try avoiding all sugars, wheats, yeast, and continue to drink large amounts of water. Also, if available, try some bio-identical progesterone cream, this would be good for those PCO's, adrenals and thyroid issues. Any good health food store carries it.

Thank you for the reply!
I've been trying to find a good Naturopathic Doctor in my area. I believe I've found one so far. Pretty expensive at $325 first visit & $145 additional visits. I'm hoping my insurance has a % out of network coverage. Also, I can't get in till mid October. I may completely lose my mind by then, so I'm going to keep looking & hopefully get into one asap. I'll pay the prices if I have to, as long as I can get the heck in to one.

I was also wondering if I had Candida too. Very interesting & im a little upset no Doctor has thought to send me to get checked. I've been worried about the IBS part too. My Endo wants me to have Chrons or Celiacs ruled out too. Can't remember which she said, C something.(?)
I am Lactose intolerant & try to avoid dairy. But as of lately I crave it. I was wondering if that had anything to do with my levels(?) I only drink almond milk, I don't find it to help w/cravings. I also don't ever really 'drink' it, I use it in my food etc. I don't mess w/soy at all & I've tried the skim, 1% 2% whole etc in cows milk & I can't do it. It still hurts my stomach & smells/taste nasty.

I try to avoid Gluten because it seems pretty common for Pcos'ers to be gluten intolerant. But I haven't stopped fully, 3 different doctors laughed at me & said I would do more harm than good. BUT I'm still trying to completely eliminate anyways. Even though my 'sugar' has never been an issue I still try to watch my intake. I wasn't sure if it was safe to completely cut it out or not. Ideally I'd like to be dairy, gluten & sugar(?) free by the end of the year at least.

Would you happen to know if the Progesterone cream would help/hurt my uterine fibroids? Those things had just about went away until now. I have bleeding issues off and on with those jerks. Sorry for the long reply, thank you again for the information.

Okay well good to hear you don't have insulin resistance. Dr Lara Briden mentions there are 4 types of PCOS. A good article to read if you are interested...

Treatment for 4 Types of PCOS. Treat the Cause:
http://www.larabriden.com/treatment-for-4-types-of-pcos-treat-the-cause/

There are other causes of elevated reverse T3 besides insulin resistance which includes low cortisol. That is why you can have plenty of hypothyroid symptoms with normal TSH, free T4 and free T3 levels.

Also of interest, Dr Habba found 98% with IBS-D had another condition. Of the 303 patients, he concluded 41% had Habba Syndrome, 23% had diarrhea caused by gallbladder removal, 8% lactose intolerance, 7% microscopic colitis, 4% celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, and a handful of patients had multiple diagnoses, drug-induced bowel problems, infectious colitis or other problems.

I did also post reasons for vitamin D deficiency. And one of these reasons should be why you can't get your vitamin D levels up.

I had vitamin D resistance from magnesium deficiency. My magnesium deficiency was due to insulin resistance. I didn't have PCOS (I had one 25 cm ovarian cyst instead!) but insulin resistance is the most common cause of PCOS. I also had hypothyroid symptoms due to elevated reverse T3 from insulin resistance (full thyroid panel can look normal with this).

I actually have drooping on my face as well but that is due to permanent nerve damage from autoimmune pernicious anaemia (can't absorb B12 in the gut). I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis which showed up some years back to cause even more hypo symptoms.

I do have kidney issues due to the damage done from insulin resistance. Something I found out the hard way when taking magnesium to correct my deficiency state. I can now take magnesium on and off a few years later after reversing my insulin resistance by removing all refined sugar from my diet and also going to the gym to do weights/walking.

My Gosh, sorry to hear that!! This is what all I've been checked for myself, but all tests always show perfect. I was worried to have all the same medical issues like you & demanded I be checked regularly. *knocking on wood* I don't have to deal w/IR or type 2.

I do take magnesium everyday (for about 8yrs) for my uterine fibroids. It's the only natural remedy I've found to keep me from basically bleeding to death & becoming anemic again. It's all very confusing! Never had a Vit D problem in my life & over night (feels like) bam, it happens. Now I can't get that sucker up! All my other levels are fine too. :(
