Tightening of the eye

Recently, my right eye has a feeling of tightening from the corner of the eye. When I look at myself in the mirror and then look upwards, I notice the change in appearance of the skin "pulling". If I pull the skin away from the eye, it feels "good" ... but immediately goes back to the tightening feeling.

What causes this sort of thing? Is there a way to stop it from happening?

Background: I have hayfever and have been taking Claritin D to alleviate symptoms of congestion, red and stinging, burning eyes and itching upper mouth. Could the eye tightening be caused by the medicine?

Thank you so much for your help. This answer makes sense since I am taking Claritin for my allergies.

Many thanks ... now I won't worry!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The eye tightening can be due to dryness. Sometime eye drops resembling tears can be put in the eyes to bring relief. It can also be due to allergies. You can consult an eye specialist and check this out. Take care!
