Tiny white bumps on roof of mouth

Several days ago I noticed the roof of my mouth was feeling a little numb, not on the surface, but underneath felt numb.  Several days past, and it only grew worse so I peered in and took a picture.

I went to my doctor who didn't know what to make of it.  He said it doesn't smell like yeast, and may be oral thrush, except that it was only contained to the small area right at the top.  I guess thrushes normally spread all over.  Tonight I took another picture to show the progression.  The numbness has subsided and is nearly gone at this point.  It doesn't hurt at all.

Any medical professional who can identify possibly what is going in my mouth would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you doctornee, when I get back home I'll setup an appt. with my doctor.  I don't know if this confirms your diagnosis, but the last picture shows the spots about as swelled as they got, then they pretty much peeled off.  I saved some and put them in a plastic bag.  They are almost totally gone now.  There's just a few tiny ones left.  Weird that they didn't fade away, but are falling off.  I'm sure I have swallowed many of them.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
What you have looks typical of fungal infection. Local anti fungal lotions and creams should be applied. Fungal infection can be localized or can be wide spread in a mouth. Please discuss this with your doctor and start an antifungal treatment.
Hope this helps. Take care!
