Unbearable Mestrual Cycle

Hello my wife has unbearable menstrual cycles.  When her period comes, she get severe cramps, headaches (migraines), nausea, blurred vision and she sometimes shake and faints.  She has had this problem ever since she started having her period.  We have spent thousands of dollars with doctors, blood test and MRI scans from the neck down.  The doctors all say my wife appear to be in perfect health.

The only solution for my wife is to take strong prescription birth control.  The birth control retards and sometime stops her menstrual cycle, which stops the symptoms that comes with it.

We do not know what to do anymore.  Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?  If so, did you find a solution that worked?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms appear to have a hormonal component to it and if the complete hormone profile has been ok, and you have completed your family then the best thing to do would be go for depot shots after consulting a gynecologist. If you have not completed your family, please plan for a pregnancy and thereafter go for the depot method to control the symptoms.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I have never heard of the marine coil fitted.  Is it a surgical  implant and does it have to be replaced over time?  Are there any possible side effects that you know of?

Thanks

Thanks for the response and advice.  I know my wife has had some checks on her hormones levels but I am not sure if it was a complete profile.  I have never heard of depot shots, I will forward your response to my wife and talk to her about this.

Thanks
