Pain/ Discomfort after eating and drinking. Diarrhea for 7 days

My partner has been abroad for the past 6 months, and since arriving in the UK has had diarrhoea and loose motion. 3 days after arriving, he started getting quite severe stomach pains (upper abdomen in the middle), along with a hot burning sensation... so much that he was crouched over in pain. The stomach was sore to touch/ lightly push.

Since then, the intense pain has not returned, however for the past 5 days, pain and discomfort in the abdomen returns nearly immediately after eating or even drinking (coffee usually). The loose watery motion has continued also.

It is now day 6, and although things are not getting worse, they are not getting better. Quite concerned!

I've given him diorylyte, windeze, and he's now been on nexum for the past 4 days (all prescribed by pharmacists) to no avail.

He's here visiting for 5 weeks and not entitled to NHS investigating care... so trying to work out what to do.

Thanks in advance

He needs to go on a BRAT diet:  Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast, until 24-48 Hours after the severity of the symptoms lessens and the diarrhea has stopped. Then he can slowly introduce some fruit & veggies and as his condition improves he can resume a normal diet, but avoiding spicy, heavy, fried or junk food.
Coffee is not recommended at present.
The Dioralyte is necessary but if you're paying out of pocket, Coconut water would be as effective and cheaper.
Windeze would be helpful with bloating and trapped gas.
Nexium, an acid reducing drug is probably OK for a short time, taking the minimum dose.
I hope this helps,
Niko

Don't let him drink local water either, this sounds like a reaction to foreign water. If he's not used to it even though it doesn't make you sick and isn't an underdeveloped country it can still happen. Purified or distilled water only no tap or well water.  I second the toast and bananas but apples can lend to the diarrhea.  Try some beef or chicken broth as well.  He'll be getting potassium from the bananas but needs some salt and protein too thus the broth.
