Undiagnosed

I've had left side somewhat upper abdominal pain since middle school and am now a college freshman. Each time i get this pain, it isnt always the same. I've had times where the pain was so severe i had to go to the hospital. By the time I was in the examination room, the pains stopped and nothing got done. The pain fluctuates (periods of little pain and then jumps to severe pain) and is a relatively dull pain.
symptoms which accompany the pain depending on severity

-cold sweats
-fatigue

Most likely irrelevant symptoms
-scalp problems since middle school. coincidence?
-lost 10 lbs this summer (i suspect its due to my lazy lifestyle)

I've had ultrasounds although my body may have had a little undigested food.
I've had stool samples with no results.
I believe blood tests were also done with no results.

I agree with JoyERD. Keeping a record of what you feel will be helpful when you see a doctor next time the pain attacks.

Keep a log of the times the pain occurs, the date, the intensity, and how long each pain lasts.  Bring this with you to your healthcare provider so that he/she can have a complete record to go off of.  This will give him/her a better means to help you.  By having the complete information, you are more likely to receive the proper diagnosis.  Best of luck to you!
