Unexplained Inflamed watery red eye in morning

Lately I have experienced inflamed watery left red eye every morning and wondering what would cause it.
It seems to disappear later on the day but persists every morning upon waking.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Redness in the eyes can be due to allergy, dry eyes, a turned in eyelash, foreign body in the eye, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, glaucoma and in case of high blood pressure or coughing, it can be due to hemorrhage under the conjunctiva. It can also be a sign of stress, eye strain or poor eye sight. Please consult an eye specialist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Oh and one ophthalmologist sent me for a blood test to check my thyroid (TSH) production, but it came back within normal range...

Hi Justin, I have the same problem (left eye, red inflamed, only in morning, discipates as day continues) and was wondering if you found a solution?

(I have been to two ophthalmologists and they couldn't explain it other than to rule out infection and gave me some eye drops for allergy)

Now I'm seeing a naturopath who did a food intolerance test and put me on a no dairy diet. That actually seemed to help my symptoms as I saw less frequency of inflammation in the morning and my symptoms changed to redness symptoms (without the inflammation) in the day after I ate something like Chinese food (msg?), Starbucks, tea.

So please let me know if you've solved your problem since we seem to have the same one. Thanks!

Seems to me that you have a minor infection. Could be caused by contact lenses(if you wear contact lenses that is) or maybe you rubbed/touched your eye with dirty hands unconsiously. Either way you should visit an eye doctor and get treatment otherwise you risk the infection getting worse.
