Unexplained constant hunger pangs

For the past four months I have had constant recurring hunger pangs.  I wake up starving in the morning and eat 4-6 bowls of cereal or porridge.  I eat soup during the day, as well as lunch.  In the evening I start supper about 7:00 and eat continually until bedtime at 9:30 or 10:00.  For example, I am small and normally eat

I have been dealing severhunger pains, nausia and chest pains for over 17 years. No ulsers, all test have been done thirod ecta, all came back fine. The Last 6 months it has gotten so bad I just want to drive my self off a cliff. My stomic Dr Stays that it is a bone at the bottom of my brest bone, that is causing the pain. I think he is crazy. My normal dr thinks it is because I am lactouse intolerent, allergic to gluton, and need to be on a low fat diet because my gallbatter might be prouducing to much bile. I just don't know. I wonder, why drs go to college for somany years if they can't seem to find the answers. There has to be answers. I just now started to look on the net and at least now I know I am not the only one. I am not crazy.

I have had anxiety and panic attacks for the past 28 years, although I am beginning to question this diagnosis.  I almost experience a chronic hunger feeling constantly, but I know it can't be hunger because it happens even after I've eaten and if I try to eat more, I can't or if I do, I end up feeling bloated with distended stomach.  Along with this, I also get a dizzy, light headed, nauseous feeling.  And I just feel sick and I don't want to go out when I feel sick.  I also have extreme fatigue.  I am on thyroid meds and antidepressents, which I wonder if they are the culprit or is it the anxiety and my stomach is in knots.  Most of my anxiety is about the way I feel physically.  I basically have a very restricted life because of it.  Last night I literally felt like I was going to throw my stomach up and my head, didn't hurt, but felt like it was going to explode.  I just laid there and seriously thought I was dying.  I was pretty calm about it.  it was strange, but I just went with it.  Finally, I took 2 mg Xanax and it went away, so I guess it is anxiety.  if I can get my big, bloated, uncomfortable stomach out the door today, I am going to go buy a good brand of inositol, which is a B vitiman.  I was told that taking 500 mg 3 times a day helps with anxiety.  So I'm going to try because I do not like taking all this Xanax.  I am up to 2 mg twice a day and do not want to increase it as Xanax causes problems.  I will report back on the inositol.

Hi, I have/had the same problems: intense fatigue, hunger, being hungry 2 hours after eating, headaches etc...

I've tried everything - and then I took tablets for thread worms and within 48 hours my symptoms disappeared.

if you've tried everything else, try this???

I hope you are doing better, but I thought I would reply with my experience just in case. For the past month I have had the same issues, went to the dr. and was told to wait it out, however the feeling was horrible and so I go to doing research. H Pylori seems to be the cause for me, as it is the only reasonable ailment that someone who is healthy could logically have  and since I do not go to the Dr. until about two weeks from now I decided to research on H pylory and how to fight it. I had been feeling constant hunger for about a month. However with a routing of probiotics (kefir), 4 tsp of high quality virgin olive oil and two cloves of garlic a day. I have kept my symptoms at bay for the past three days.

I do not know if this is a real solution, but it has given me my life back, my energy and I do not feel hungry. I experimented today and eat a horrible lunch (greasy cheeseburger etc) and I feel full, not hungry and certainly not like I felt last week (low sugar, abdominal pain etc.) I'd recommend looking into it and hopefully it works. The research says that olive oil is effective in clinical research and it is working for me. Right now 10/22/13 I just feel a slight pressure in my belly, rumbling and as if I had woken up from a restful nap.

I really hope my experience helps

Did the doc test for Hashimoto's or pituitary issues (can be caused by overproduction of estrogen or testosterone)  all which cause a hypothyroidism but your thyroid tests would come back normal.  each has their own particular test but causes the same symptoms. I found very helpful thyroid info on ChrisKresser.com.  Thyroid still sounds suspect to me.

I worked in Cardiology for 10 plus years and your symptoms concern me.. I recommend that you insist on an EKG from your primary doctor.
Womens signs of cardiac issues are different than men. The fact that your pain travels from stomach to your back and you have nausea is enough to get an EKG.
Better to be safe. :)

I'm 20 years old and I have been experiencing this for about two weeks now. It started with me waking up in the middle of the night hungry to being hungry before sleep, during sleep, and when I wake up. and when I do eat I get full quick which causes me to eat ever 3-4 hours. It wouldn't be a big problem eating all the time because I can always exercise to stay in 'my' normal weight range but what goes in doesn't like to come out and I can't force it to. Whenever my stomach burns or I get nauseous I try to drink a lot of water to compensate for food which sometimes works right after I eat my last meal but I'm up and down all night. I heard that drinking milk would help but if your lactose-intolerant like me I guess your out of luck with instant relief. If anybody has an answer to this problem please let me know

...Sorry, 3 posts in a row.

I guess I should add that I feel exhausted a lot and it's hard to focus on school. I just want to go back to my dorm room and pass out, and I'm pretty sure I'm getting enough sleep. It's not even that I feel tired, per se, but ...exhausted. My body doesn't want to do any more. I'm not sure if that's related or not, I just thought it might be useful.

Oh. Pregnancy is not possible (unless you believe in immaculate conception :P)

And I drink a fair amount of water (lots of power-ade and other flavored waters like minute maid stuff)

P.S. This actually started when I was about 16, but it wasn't as often as it was now. In the past year it's been getting worse and worse until now it's just as I described in my last post.

And I guess I'm not allowed to post my email :P Poop.

I have this problem too!

It happens right after my period. It used to last a day, then a few, then a week, now I might get a break from it for a couple of days before my next period and during it, after it starts all over again.

My dad's Diabetic, mom's hypoglycemic or however you spell it. I'm 18, 5'8", 220 pounds and gaining because of this. I've probably gained about 20 pounds in the last 3 months. I was around 197 for years until this started.

I just feel hungry constantly, but when I eat it is still there, and sometimes it feels worse when I start eating. There are often sharp pains, too. I get nauseous if I don't eat...and I feel like something my come up, but it's stuck.

I'm REALLY tired of this controlling me!

If you have any info or suggestions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at primordial.***@****

Did you have a hysterectomy? Do you feel constantly hungry? Do you get any feelings on the left side of your abdomen?

Thanks for your reply.  I have had my glucose checked, and the thyroid is always normal.  I've had everything done you can think of.  The latest is Fibromyalgia and Chronic Ebstein Barr.  I believe it also to be related to adhesions from abdominal surgery for hysterectomy.  The last time there was a doc in there I had adhesions to my liver.  But, of course, no one wants to go back and look.  Who knows, maybe by the time they are up to my wind pipe some one will investigate!!  Again, thanks for the concern!  It is important to someone with chronic problems to know that someone is concerned.  That's half the battle, is getting someone to understand.  God Bless!!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Gastroparesis with hunger pangs and malaise, gain in weight all point towards diabetes. Has your blood sugar been tested for fasting and 2 hours after a meal. Even if it has been and the result was normal, I would suggest you go for a glucose challenge and tolerance test. This detects an underlying diabetes too. Hypothyroidism too should be investigated for as this too can result in gastroparesis with hunger pangs and malaise, and gain in weight.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

I am 40 years old, and have had stomach problems for about 2 years now.  I am constantly hungry, nauseated, bloated, and I have put on so much weight it's ridiculous.  I have chronic body aches, malaise, headaches.  I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis about a year and a half ago.  I was treated with Motilium, which helped a little but not for long.  I take 2-4 Prevacid Solutabs during the day, doesn't help.  Unfortunately, most Dr's. check for the obvious stuff, and when they don't find something,  that's it.  They tell you, "Come back if it happens again."  What do you mean?  It hasn't stopped!!  I hope you all find some kind of relief, because this stuff is miserable!!!!
