Upper Right Abdominal Pain??

For about 3 months I have had upper right abdominal pain, sort of under my ribs. A dull ache. About a 4 out of 10. I had high ALT liver emzymes when i went to the ER about 2 months ago,  but those are now closer to normal. The X-Ray and CT scans showed nothing strange regarding my liver, gallbladder or kidneys. The blood tests and urine tests came back normal. The pain is usually worse in the evenings. What could be causing this? I've cut back drinking and have a much better diet than I did when this started, hoping it would help and it doesn't seem to.

Currently liver, gall bladder and pancreas have been deemed to not have been the cause. I will research your suggestions further. Thank you!

Thank you for your comment. I noticed I had eaten some take out Chinese, something I normally don't do and thought it might be that.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If liver, gall bladder and pancreas issues have been totally ruled out (please confirm with the doctor), then it could be a duodenal ulcer causing the pain. Take a late night snack. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food.
You should consult a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) or a physician for this if these tips reduce your symptoms.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Your diet should consist of low fat, high fiber, low glycemic and no alcohol. Your problem will continue to get worse if you don't follow these directions.
