Vomiting/ 24 hr fever like flu, now better but bloody urine

Started with a sudden vomiting spell that kept me up all night, and a high fever.  Couldn't keep down fluids, so I let my stomach empty.  Next day had some gatorade and eventually soup.  The vomiting stopped, but the high fever lasted.  Fever was about 20 hours total, accompanied by chills and body aches like a mild flu.  Kept temperature down with a dose of Aspirin & later a dose of Tylenol.  Went to clinic, they did flu test which was negative, and said I didn't have strep, that it was likely just a virus.  Next day, I feel 100% better...except I've urinated twice and it's dark brown and has an odor.  Is this just my system cleaning out or likely an indication of a problem?  I have no pain, and no fever.  I have a copper IUD so I'm a little worried about infection in my urinary tract.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
This could just be a viral infection or mild food poisoning. The urine was dark colored probably due to dehydration, high fever and fever medicines. Please drink plenty of fluid and water and see if it helps. If this persists please consult a doctor. Hope this helps. Take care!

A lot of what you described sounds like you could have a kidney infection, which can be life threatening!  Viral hepatitis or cirrhosis of the liver I saw on one website can cause dark brown urine.  Another mentions UTI, liver failure, renal (kidney) failure & blood in the urine.  Please go in ASAP and get a urine culture, kidney and liver functions done!
