What could be causing this pain?

Im 15 year old girl with right sided pain on the side to back of my ribs. ive had it for 2 weeks now at first i thought it was muscular but it realy wasnt that type of pain (more of a sharp pain). Also ive recently had bloods done but my LFT (liver function test) has come back abnormal its been that way for 4 mounths now. Oh and i also suffer from anorexia but am having help for it and am trying to recover.

Hi thanks for your reply. I am already seeing someone for the anorexia. Hopefully i'll be able to fight my demons soon.

Needless to say, you must fight out this anorexia problem. Nothing is impossible! A strong mind and will power can do wonders. Consult a specialist in this field.

Abnormal LFT is often found associated with this disorder. Some gain in weight will restore these enzyme levels. They are a sign f the distress your body is under.

Get an upper abdomen ultrasound done to rule out gall stones. This could also be causing the pain. Also the ultrasound will be able to catch fatty liver or liver enlargement.

Many deficiencies like Vitamin B12 and Vit D too could have occurred. Get a chest X-ray done to rule out any chest pathology.

It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage without examining. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

sounds like your anorexia has cause you liver damage and now your feeling pain from the liver,,thats not good huh?,,,hope you didnt do too much damage,your awefully young to need a new liver!
