What do I have?

Hello, so today marks a month of these symptoms that I’ve had. I’ve been very nauseous without appetite, when I do eat I don’t ever feel satisfied I keep feeling hungry. I feel like I’ve been more sleepy lately and I’m always constipated. I get abdominal pain here and there. When I first had these symptoms I went to the ER and I was told it was either a stomach bug or food poisoning and that it should go away on its own in a few days. Well a week passed and I was still the same eating soup on the daily, and taking medicine that only relieved my nausea for the day but made me really constipated. I ended up going to the ER a second time and was told the same thing. I got better a week later that I didn’t follow up with my doctor. Now it’s been 3 days that I’ve been sick again and I don’t know what it can be. My doctor appointment isn’t until another week :(

The ER is not the place to go for something like this.  They take care of emergencies and have an examine and move out mentality. This isn't an emergency but a problem going on with your health that requires a regular doctor.  You can see if your doctor can move you up (they have cancellations and a lot of times have space blocked out for an acute situation that people have to be seen for that day, example . . . if you have pneumonia, you can't wait until a week to get antibiotics, so when sick, they get people in . . .  you must not have sounded like it was necessary right away, so you can call back and up the ante so to speak and see if you can get seen same day or next day).

I had an ulcer that created symptoms like you describe.  It was an ulcer in my small intestines.  Have no idea if your issue is the same but they can run some tests on you (they found my ulcer through an endoscopy).  So, you see your regular doctor and hopefully they will provide an answer or they will refer you to a gastroenterologist.

Oh, and on the note of ER, I have found for a sickness or issue like you are having, urgent care is a better option.  Urgent cares these days see regular patients too so have that mentality.  And it may be cheaper too (my ER copay is the most expensive of all my copays).  good luck

Thank you for your response, when I went to the ER they did ultrasound and CAT scan and they had told me everything looked fine and there seemed to not be any presence of ulcers. I called back to my doctor and got them to move my appointment a few days earlier thanks for the advice.
Also I’ve been told that it might be an intestinal parasite, but I’m not aware of the symptoms for that.
