What is this?

I have been experiencing very sensitive/burning type feeling on my left side of my body and the right side of my face. I can't stand it to be touched-even the dog sniffing me is awful. It seriously feels like a sunburn kind of or like some one rubbed my skin with sand paper. I can't stand my husband touching me or even talking too loud.

No, haven't had a cold recently. I've had this feeling before, but not for so long before. It's been since friday evening. No rash. Have started new BP meds, but looked them up, and there's nothing to indicate this could be a reaction. It's very similar to how my daughter describes her skin hurts sometimes. (she has MS) It has now also affected the top of my right thigh. My right hand has felt like this for a while when I think about it. (I'm real good at ignoring things, but only for so long) Thanks very much for your time and input! It is appreciated.

Ah, it's me again, sorry! My oops, I was going to add a little bit more to the post than this. Started thinking of the possibility of new medications lately - if you have just had any dose-adjustments or added new medications it could be a side effect, or sensitivity to it.

Hi!

The immediate question I'd like to ask is if you've had any colds lately and if you have any rash.

How long have you had this problem?

This is because - don't depend on my post alone here please! - shingles could start this way. It is limited to one side - either left or right, and it includes light sensitivity, touch sensitivity and tingling. I do believe the rash doesn't have to come first. It is by the way the same virus that causes chicken pox and can stay latent in the body for years.

It is more common that it starts on the back, around the affected nerves. The pre-stage usually includes flu-symptoms but might not mean fever.

Have you got migraines or headaches? Maybe it could be migraines too? That wouldn't come all of a sudden though, and I do believe that touch-sensitivity is included there.

I don't want to worry you! Maybe you can post this question in Family Medicine community too?
